Padrecocha is a town with an awesome Amazonian cultural fusion. During the past 100 years, different families
and people from the Kukama, Bora, Yaguas, Kichwa, and Achuar cultures have come to settle between the Momón and
Nanay rivers.
The descendants, children of the people who came displaced from their original lands, today want to preserve and share their culture.
During this cultural day, we will get to know Amazonian art and culture in its different representations.
We will dance and listen to stories. Afterward, we will learn to make bracelets with seeds and vegetable fibers
and attend pottery and balsa wood carving workshops. We will combine with the visit to the renowned PILPINTUWASI,
a wildlife rescue center, and its butterfly farm.
For lunch, we will have a delicious gourmet experience prepared by the community
The itinerary can be organized for a larger group. Please request a customized quote for your group.
We will pick you up at your hotel or another prearranged meeting point, then we will head to
Bellavista – Nanay, a neighborhood located on the banks of the Nanay River, and near the Amazon River.
Every Saturday people from riverside farms come to its market to sell local products.
After visiting the Bellavista-Nanay market, we will board our boat that will take us to the Momón River. We will navigate upstream the Nanay River and we will pass under the famous largest bridge in Peru.
Afterward, we will continue sailing towards a natural, rustic Maloka, and we will visit the Yagua people, one of the Amazon indigenous groups that moved here from the Colombian border. They will teach us some of their customs, dances, and a little bit of their language. Hand-made crafts will be offered by the community to visitors.
Then, we will have lunch in a beautiful local restaurant with a nice river view. Here you will have the opportunity to taste our Amazonian cuisine.
